Showcasing Brand New Models
As if we weren’t already eager enough to be attending the Boat Show this year for the very first time, we’re looking forward even more to showcasing some of the most exciting new product releases from several brands, including:
The Merger LRF XP50 Thermal Imaging Binoculars
Brand-new and eagerly anticipated, the wait for the Pulsar Merger LRF XP50 thermal imaging binoculars is finally over. Retaining the classic aesthetics of a pair of daytime binoculars and with an ergonomic design, this device remains comfortable and familiar to hold over long periods of observation.
Powerful Thermal Imaging Capabilities
With an incredibly powerful 640×480, 17 µm, <25 mK NETD thermal sensor and fast aperture 50mm F1.0 germanium objective lens, these thermal binoculars will provide highly detailed thermal imaging at distances of up to 1800m!† This thermal imagery is presented on the Merger LRF XP50’s 1024×768 HD AMOLED display, with AMOLED technology working to provide a consistently fluid and flawlessly high definition image.

Quick and Accurate Distance Measurements
A built-in precision laser rangefinder blends seamlessly into the design of these binoculars, offering measuring capabilities at distances of 1000m with an accuracy of ± 1m, achievable in either single step or continuous scanning modes.
Digital & Connectivity Functions
It wouldn’t be a Pulsar without all the bells and whistles when it comes to digital and connectivity features! The Merger LRF XP50 comes with a built-in still image and video recording capabilities, built-in Wi-Fi module, 8 colour palettes, enhanced image processing algorithms, proximity sensor, and much more!
Take a look at our preview video below, where Dave at Thomas Jacks Ltd tests the Mergers out in the field:
Four New Devices in the Axion 2 Range
The Pulsar Axion 2 series has grown with the addition of four new pocket-sized models. The arrival of the Axion 2 XQ35, Axion 2 LRF XQ35, Axion 2 XG35, and Axion 2 LRF XG35 greatly expands the range of powerful thermal imaging monoculars, offering four new devices, two powerful thermal sensors, and two models featuring built-in precision laser rangefinders.
The XQ models use a 384×288, 17µm, <40mK NETD thermal sensor — providing a detection range of up to 1300m across each device, whereas the XG models each use a larger 640×480, 12 µm, <40mK NETD thermal sensor — providing an even greater detection range of up to 1750m.

Two New LRF Models
Just like the Merger LRF XP50, the LRF Axion 2 models each feature built-in precision laser rangefinders, offering measuring capabilities of up to 1000m, with an accuracy of ± 1m. These measurements are once again offered in single step or continuous scanning modes, and the LRF itself is compact enough that the devices will still fit comfortably in a pocket for quick and easy storage or transportation.
Stay Connected with the Axion 2 Thermal Imaging Monocular
Once again, all four models come with the digital capabilities and connectivity options that are to be expected with Pulsar products. These include a built-in still image and video recorder, 8 colour palettes, Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode, built-in dual band Wi-Fi module offering the standard smartphone 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi frequency range with an effective 5 GHz connection range, fast start-up within 5 seconds, Stream Vision 2 compatibility, and much more!
More Robust Than Its Size Suggests
A device of this sort wouldn’t be any good to a mariner if it couldn’t take a dip in the water once in a while, which is why all four of these new thermal imaging monoculars are IPX7 waterproof rated, remaining fully operational after a downpour, a splash, or even after being submersed in water to a depth of 1m for up to 30 minutes.
Find out just what these new Axion 2 models can achieve in part one of four in our Axion Megatest series. Parts 2, 3, and 4 can be seen at the end of the video.
The All-New SiOnyx Nightwave Maritime Night Vision Camera
Now here’s one we’re really eager to show you! The all-new Nightwave — the first maritime digital night vision camera from SiOnyx — is a device suited for all mariners, no matter their skill level. With an easy setup, this night vision camera can connect directly to your vessel’s on-board console, making night-time navigation that much easier and undoubtedly a whole lot safer.

Effortless Night-Time Navigation
Navigate effortlessly by night, spotting debris, obstacles, or buoys and markers previously unseen thanks to the Nightwave’s 44º field of view, <1 millilux moonless starlight sensitivity, and SiOnyx’s patented, highly sensitive Black Silicon BSI CMOS sensor — an incredibly powerful sensor that will provide a night vision detection range of up to 150m.
As expected, the Nightwave is IP67 waterproof rated, withstanding the harsh weather and exposure to water that is to be expected at sea. It will even survive submersion down to 3ft for up to 30 minutes.
The SiOnyx Nightwave will be on display at our stand from September 16th to September 25th! Don’t miss your chance to check it out.
Powerful Thermal Imaging Binoculars from Guide
We’re all about NEW at this year’s Southampton International Boat Show! What with this being our first time, we really wanted to blow you out of the water (sorry!) by showing off all the latest technology, which is why we’re offering hands-on demonstrations of the new TN series — a range of powerful thermal imaging binoculars from Guide.

Impressive Thermal Imaging Detection Ranges
The TN series consists of four new devices: the TN430, TN450, TN630, and TN650 — all of which adopt the more traditional daytime binocular design and offer impressive detection ranges between 1000 metres and an incredible 3300 metres (a full breakdown of detection range can be found further down this post).
Within each device can be found a powerful sensor and objective lens working to present stunning thermal imagery onto its high definition, full colour 1024×768 OLED display. Add the 50Hz frame rate and you’ve got an image that remains smooth and detailed, even when observed objects are on the move.
Built-In Laser Rangefinder
Each model in the TN series features a built-in laser rangefinder, allowing users to accurately gauge distances of up to 600m with an accuracy of ±1m. These measurements can be taken in single step or continuous scanning modes.
The TN series is packed full of digital and connectivity functionalities, including a built-in still image and video recorder, 6 colour palettes, enhanced viewing mode, multiple scene modes, integrated Wi-Fi module, and much more.
Every TN series model is IP66 rated, protecting them against heavy rainfall and splashes when out sailing, and has been 1m drop tested, so it can survive a tumble.
